The main Duties and Responsibilities of this position are:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Responsible for conducting research on different functionalization strategies in order to adapt different micro and nanomaterials to our bioconjugation technology.<br \/>\n&#8211; Responsible for creating detailed Project Plans including scientific approaches and realistic deliverables with timelines.<br \/>\n&#8211; Detailed physicochemical characterization of the functionalized materials.<br \/>\n&#8211; Optimize the functionalization process in terms of reliability and cost effectiveness for a later scale-up and production.<br \/>\n&#8211; Design experiments, analyze data and prepare reports for qualification, validation and troubleshooting of the functionalization strategies.<br \/>\n&#8211; Takes part in the Intellectual Property strategy of the company and its implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years experience. \u00a0Candidates possessing a M.S. degree in a relevant field with 8+ years experience will also be considered.<br \/>\n&#8211; Hands-on experience and knowledge in data interpretation regarding relevant material characterization techniques including DLS, zeta-potential, TEM, SEM, FTIR, UV-Vis, XPS, XRD, TGA, SQUID.<br \/>\n&#8211; A proven track record in surface chemistry and functionalization of micro\/nano structured materials (e.g.: gold, magnetic and polymeric nanoparticles, quantum dots, carbon nanotubes, cantilevers, gold surfaces) is required.<br \/>\n&#8211; Broad knowledge in protein, nucleic acid, enzyme and peptide chemistry is highly desirable.<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience in the mono and multi-biofunctionalization of micro\/nanomaterials with a wide variety of biomolecules including antibodies, enzymes, drugs, nucleic acids, peptides, etc.<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience in the application of biofunctionalized materials in the biomedical and biotechnological field is highly desirable.<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience in nanoparticle synthesis will be a plus.<br \/>\n&#8211; Candidates with industrial experience will be strongly favored.<br \/>\n&#8211; Strong verbal and written communication skills including a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and the ability to create and successfully implement experimental test plans<br \/>\n&#8211;
