Los dominios de este libro, tan <em>british<\/em> pero tan universal al mismo tiempo, son los de la literatura de Juan Pedro Aparicio, que abre mil puertas a un recorrido por la capital brit\u00e1nica: la imagen ic\u00f3nica de cabinas y de taxis, la altura de los autobuses londinenses y del vuelo de algunos \u00e1ngeles misteriosos \u2013tan parecidos a nosotros, como dice Aparicio que dej\u00f3 dicho <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emanuel_Swedenborg\" target=\"_blank\">Swedenborg<\/a>\u2013, y la conversaci\u00f3n infinita de los miembros de un curioso club que domina la narraci\u00f3n. Estudi\u00f3 Derecho en las Universidades de Oviedo y Madrid. Es ensayista, articulista\u00a0y\u00a0narrador tanto de novela como de relato corto. Ha vivido durante algunos a\u00f1os en Inglaterra donde, de 2005 a 2009, fue Director del <a href=\"http:\/\/londres.cervantes.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Instituto Cervantes de Londres<\/a>. A pesar de esta vocaci\u00f3n\u00a0internacional, siempre ha mostrado una gran cercan\u00eda con su\u00a0tierra:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Su obra <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/catoute.unileon.es\/record=b1604960\" target=\"_blank\">El Transcant\u00e1brico<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0(1982) ha inspirado la puesta en marcha del<a href=\"http:\/\/www.renfe.com\/trenesturisticos\/transcantabrico_GranLujo.html\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">tren tur\u00edstico con el mismo nombre.<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Juan Pedro Aparicio es autor de un libro llamado<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em> <a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/catoute.unileon.es\/record=b1163915\" target=\"_blank\">Ensayo sobre las pugnas, heridas, capturas, expolios y desolaciones del viejo Reino, en el que se apunta la reivindicaci\u00f3n leonesa de Le\u00f3n<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>(1981)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 2010 fue comisario de la Conmemoraci\u00f3n <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Reino-de-Le%C3%B3n-1100-a%C3%B1os\/213674653708\" target=\"_blank\">1100 Aniversario del reino de Le\u00f3n<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 2013 recibi\u00f3 el <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Premio_Castilla_y_Le%C3%B3n_de_las_Letras\" target=\"_blank\">Premio Castilla y Le\u00f3n de las Letras<\/a>\u00a0en reconocimiento al conjunto de su carrera.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Como escritor\u00a0se dio a conocer\u00a0en el\u00a0a\u00f1o 1975 con <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color:
