Ha colaborado con sus art\u00edculos en los medios m\u00e1s importantes del pa\u00eds y ha participado en m\u00faltiples congresos de literatura. Cuando recibi\u00f3 en 1994 el Premio Nacional de Narrativa por su novela\u00a0<em>El lenguaje de las fuentes<\/em>\u00a0ya gozaba de prestigio en los ambientes profesionales gracias a sus tres novelas anteriores, pero tambi\u00e9n debido a sus cr\u00edticas literarias y a su vinculaci\u00f3n con la revista\u00a0<em>Un \u00e1ngel m\u00e1s<\/em>. Sin embargo, Mart\u00edn Garzo se volvi\u00f3 un autor popular en 1999, tras la obtenci\u00f3n del Premio Nadal por\u00a0<em>Las historias de Marta y Fernando<\/em>. Se confiesa hombre met\u00f3dico y sin prisas. Nunca ha abandonado su ciudad. \u00abCualquier lugar \u2013ha escrito\u2013 contiene el mundo entero, los mismos conflictos, los mismos anhelos. Basta con saber mirarlos.\u00bb Ha publicado, entre otras novelas,\u00a0<em>El lenguaje de las fuentes\u00a0<\/em>(1993, Premio Nacional de Narrativa),\u00a0<em>Marea oculta<\/em>\u00a0(1993, Premio Miguel Delibes),\u00a0<em>El peque\u00f1o heredero<\/em>(1997),\u00a0<em>Las historias de Marta y Fernando<\/em>\u00a0(1999, Premio Nadal),\u00a0<em>El jard\u00edn dorado<\/em>\u00a0(2008),\u00a0<em>Y qu<\/em><em>e se duerma el mar<\/em>\u00a0(2012) o<em>La puerta de los p\u00e1jaros<\/em>\u00a0(2014). En 2004 obtuvo el Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil por\u00a0<em>Tres cuentos de hadas<\/em>.
